Esterase 101
Biocatalysts
Specifications
General Properties
- Enzyme Properties:
- Origin: Recombinant from E. coli; Optimal pH: 8.5-9.5 (hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl ester); Cofactor requirement: none; Temperature: Est-101 is not stable at temperatures above 30 °C. Est-102 can be used at 37- 40 °C; Co-solvent: For Est-101 it has been found that the addition of a co-solvent has generally a beneficial effect on selectivity, the exception being EtOAc. Such an effect has not been detected for Est-102. DMSO, acetonitrile, acetone, ethanol and methanol are good co-solvents if substrate solubility is a problem.; Additives: For Est-101 activity and selectivity can be increase by the addition of Tween 80, Tween 20, Triton X100 and PEG 400 (up to 0.3% (v/v))
- Specification:
- Appearance: white to off-white powder; Specific Activity > 30 U/mg (with p-nitrophenyl acetate)
